When was Villeroy and Boch founded?
Villeroy & Boch was founded in 1748 by Nicolas Villeroy, a French tilemaker, and his son-in-law, Francois Boch, a German potter. The company has been passed down through the generations of the Villeroy and Boch families and is now run by the seventh and eighth generations. It is headquartered in Mettlach, Germany.
The company is best known for its ceramic products, which include tableware, tiles, and sanitaryware. However, it also produces glassware, metalware, and furniture.
Villeroy & Boch has a long history of innovation and design. Some of its most famous products include the Majolica dinner service (1835), the Faience dinner service (1850), and the New Wave dinner service (2004).
